How to close my HP laptop without it going into sleep/standby mode?

Everytime I close my HP laptop up it stops my music and all my programs and goes to sleep/standby mode. Is there a way to prevent it from doing this?

    Go into power settings, and change what closing the lid does

    Right click on your dekstop, select properties. go to screen saver, go to the power option. Then set it up to do nothing when lid is closed.
